Reasons why I love Instagram: -It is mobile based and is also available on the computer at Instagram.com. -ITS FREE! You aren’t paying to post or advertise! 1. You can create separate Instagram accounts for personal and Younique business related content. By separating your Younique related posts to a Younique focused business Instagram account, you can keep your business posts separate from your close friend's, familie's, and personal account follower's feeds.
2. Use your own picture for your profile. It shouldn’t be of lashes, or the Younique Logo. Your picture is one of the first things people will see. This puts a face to your Younique business and the posts you are putting out. It gives security to your followers who visit your link and purchase from your site.
3. Make a username that people will remember. It can include something catchy and Younique/Younique Product related, can contain your name, etc. -Keep in mind we are not allowed to use the word younique/youniquely in our posts without our name in the username/online alias, as stated in the presenter’s agreement. -If possible, stay consistent with your online usernames/alias for your social media accounts.
4. Write a brief, but detailed bio for your profile. Make sure it tells what you do, but you don’t have to be all about business either. You want to have people to be able to pull up your account and see what it is about and to decide if they want to follow you.
5. Add a online party link/domain name in your clickable bio website link. You want people to have somewhere to go to learn more about your business and where to purchase products. By including your party link, it will allow you to get your commission as well as your y-cash from your online hostess rewards! -You can include in your description/comments that “Visit my bio link to purchase Younique Products.” 6. Your posts should SHOW YOUR PERSONALITY! Don’t just SELL or push others to JOIN your team.
-Share how Younique enhances your lashes, your facial features and your life! This is a great way to be relatable to your followers. 7. Post your own original photos! This puts a face to your business! Post pictures of you using the Younique Products, fun activities you do throughout the day, your favorite quotes, and personal things. This makes it so people can connect with you! This also makes them feel like you aren’t just trying to sell them something or trying to get them to join your team. Build a trust with your followers so they feel like they can connect with you. -Take photos in natural lighting for best results! -Photoshop/word editing apps: Facetune, Wordswag, ABM, Facecam, LiPix Pro, Moldiv, Frame swag. - Photoshop/word editing websites: Picmonkey.com , Canva.com
8. Post/Repost Younique’s photos. Younique corporate provides marketing materials, and photos and descriptions featuring the products, announcements, makeup application tips, the Younique foundation. Don’t forget to personalize the posts! -Repost apps: Repost, Regram, Instagram.
9. Post/Repost Customer’s photos. This is a great way to build relationships by giving shout outs to customers by tagging them and thanking them for their purchases. 10. Keep your profile PUBLIC? I highly suggest keep your profile open. With an open profile, your pictures and hashtags are not searchable or open to see. Your target group of people who are able to see your photos are UNLIMITED. With a closed profile, it may hurt your business because the pictures and hastags will not be searchable and will only be limited to be seen to the followers who you allow to follow.
11. Post a picture everyday. CONSISTENCY IS KEY. Being consistent in your posting on Instagram will help you build a following faster and show people you are active in your Younique business/branding.
12. Use #hashtags in every post. They are your BESTFRIEND! A hashtag categorizes your photo into a huge search pool. If I wanted to see mascaras, I would type in mascaras into the tags search bar and it would take me to a page with photos connected to that hastag. This will help you grow your business. Hashtags filter your photos to potential followers/customers who search related hashtags that you include in your photo descriptions/comments. It will take your photos from no people seeing your photos to millions. -NEVER post a photo without a hashtag. This expands your promotion potential for FREE. -Follow Younique Corporate’s Hashtag Trends! -You can add up to 30 hashtags at a time. -Make a cheat sheet for hashtags. This makes it easier on yourself by having a note saved on your smart phone containing your most popular, related hashtags that get a lot of interaction. Then just copy them and paste them in your picture descriptions instead of typing them every time. -OR use APPS like TagsForLikes and #hashtags which provide hashtags to add to your Instagram pictures faster.
13. Connect Instagram to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr. The more social media sites, the more exposure you get. If you’re going to use Instagram for marketing, go all the way and share each post on these other sites at the same time.
14. Pros and cons to watermarking? Watermarking is when you put your URL, brand name or both on your pictures. You can use apps like WatermarkPS(photos) and WatermarkVS(videos) or another word related edit apps to edit the picture and brand it with something for people to remember you by when they all see it. This will increase traffic and brand awareness. Younique corporate does not repost any photos that are watermarked to their Instagram/social media accounts page. If you want to have the chance to be featured on Younique corporates pages, tag their accounts and do not watermark. 15. Follow at least 50 people a day. What I like to do is follow people everyday . Then once or twice a week, I’ll clean out those who don’t follow back and start following new people again. 16. Follow people to get followers. A certain amount of people will always follow back on Instagram, so one way to get more followers when starting out is to follow people. 17. Follow people in your targeted audience. Do your research on who tends to buy Younique products. When you have your perfect audience to target, figure out who they would follow, and then follow them. 18. Use Instagram Direct to send private messages to certain people(like customers or potnetial presenters). If you want to personally connect with people on Instagram you can now directly message them without having to just use commenting or connect on a different social media site like Facebook. 19. Respond to comments. People love it when you actually are active with your own followers. It builds a trust and a stronger connection that could lead to more customer loyalty or just better overall branding. 20. Describe your pictures that you post. Put your take on what’s happening in your posts on Instagram, so that people know what’s going on or can see why you posted what you did. It will increase interaction. 21. Post short videos. Everyone loves short, catchy videos. This is a great opportunity to do short product demos! Just look at the popularity or sites like Youtube, Vimeo, and Vine. 22. Pay attention to analytics. When marketing on Instagram, you must pay attention to the numbers which tell your popularity and which of your posts get more viewers and interaction.0
- Followers+ helps you do so! Use the Followers+ app. This will help monitor how popular you’re becoming on Instagram and see a breakdown of your followers.
- Follow Mate app. This will make it much easier to unfollow people who aren’t interested in following you back, follow people who follow you, and search for new people that you aren’t connected to. 23. Follow the top Instagram Makeup and Younique presenter accounts. One of the easiest ways to get good at marketing, is to just model what the pros/top presenters are doing and just add a little of your personal touch. 24. Follow your Facebook and other connections who have an Instagram. Instagram does a lot of integration for you to create connections faster than most social media sites. Take advantage of it.
